How much does it cost to join Word of Mouse?

There is no charge for joining Word of Mouse as an associate member. To make the most of the benefits you will want to become a full member and be part of an e-circle of local businesses working together and supporting each other. You will also be able to enjoy the benefits of the discounts available on the learning centre and regular free training, development and business ideas from leading experts. There is a one-off joining fee of £60+VAT (£70.50) for this. This is reduced to £30+VAT (£35.25) during the beta stage Thereafter there is a monthly cost of £17+VAT (£19.98), which gives you access to a network of like-minded and supportive business people in your area. The initial payment includes the first month's membership and subsequent payments will be charged monthly, commencing one month after you are allocated in an e-circle

Can I leave Word of Mouse at any time?

We want you to stay with us for a very long time, and believe that we offer the right set of tools to help you grow your business. There is no minimum period of membership and you can cancel your membership at any time and will not incur any further charges.

What’s the difference between the Associate membership and the Full membership?

Associate membership is free and enables you to have your profile on the website, regular newsletters and other benefits.
Full membership gives a much wider range of benefits, including membership of local and special interest e-circles, all designed to help you to develop and grow your business through referrals and support from your fellow members and leading experts in their fields.

What is an e-circle?

An e-circle is a group of business people all working together generating business for each other and giving support. Your e-circle will be local to you geographically. This means that you can meet the other members, either individually or in small groups, depending on your preference. E-circles can be made up in one of three ways:

Locally - This means that you can meet the other members, either individually or in small groups, depending on your preference, to allow you to build strong relationships that will enable you to feel comfortable supporting each other.

By Interest - Membership of larger e-circles formed around business interest is also available. Members of these will exchange ideas, introductions and share industry issues. By focusing around a common business link, scope exists for additional opportunities.

Personal - If you want to bring together your personal network in one place, keeping in touch on a regular basis with people who already want to support each other, you can set up your own e-circle.

Who will be in my e-circle?

We can’t predict that – it depends on who applies to join. We can tell you that there will only be one of each profession/business/discipline so you won’t be in competition with anyone else in your e-circle. This is specific to local e-circles – the special interest e-circles will be anyone with a specific interest in the e-circle focus and personal e-circles will be by invitation only.

What happens if my business is already represented in my local e-circle?

You will be matched into the next nearest e-circle – or, as we are expecting lots of new members as the news of Word of Mouse spreads, there will be new e-circles starting and your place will be booked in the next one to start in your area. If you already have a strong network you could always invite your existing business contacts to join you in starting your own e-circle. You can earn money doing this too through our Introducers scheme.

What is the Introducers scheme?

For each person who you introduce as a Full Member, we will credit you with one month's membership free of charge as a thank you. For people who have a wide network of people who may be interested in Word of Mouse or who are interested in helping us to market Word of Mouse to a wider audience, the Introducer's Scheme provides the opportunity to earn substantial commissions for ongoing introductions.

How do I join an e-circle?

When you sign up as a subscriber you will be asked to enter your preferred postcode area for your e-circle. This can be near to your work address or near to your home address; whichever you feel is most convenient. You will then be shown the nearest circle to you with a vacancy for your business or profession and can select this or ask for an alternative.

I’ve heard that there are special interest groups as well, how do I join one of these?

As part of your full membership, as well as your e-circle, you will be able to join a special interest group so that you can network and share ideas and opportunities with people in similar types of business.

What is an invitation only group?

If you have your own network and would like them to join you in your own e-circle bring your contacts together we can arrange to do that and to restrict members to those invited by designated members of your e-circle.

How does the learning centre work?

As an associate member you will be able to view the material in the learning centre and will be able to purchase some of the materials there at full price. As a full member you will receive free monthly podcasts and will have access to the full range of materials in the learning centre which will include e-books and reports, podcasts, webinars, e-courses, live events, etc. Some of this will have a cost and, as a member, you will pay a discounted price for these, some are free of charge and some are only available to full members. The library will grow as each month passes giving members access to an unprecedented resource of business and personal development information. If you take full advantage of the learning centre you will quickly receive far more in value than the monthly membership fee.
